大聯盟例行賽只剩下最後3天，還在拚外卡，取得季後賽門票的金鶯隊，今天（10月1日）做客到洋基主場進行3連戰第1場比賽，金鶯全壘打火力全開，第5局單局轟出3發全壘打，一口氣攻下下6分，終場以8:1擊敗洋基，加上藍鳥輸給紅襪，金鶯目前獨居外卡第一。

例行賽還剩最後3場，金鶯想搶下外卡必須好好把握，4局上半Schoop跳出來打頭陣，這2分讓金鶯穩定軍心，5局上半開始盡情揮灑，全大聯盟第一的重砲威力，Jones把球轟上第2層看台，全壘打王Trumbo也要展現威力。

同一個方向再來一發，Trumbo的2分砲也把洋基先發投手Pineda打退場，Pineda只投4.1局失5分，吞下今年（2016年）第12敗，投手換人，但是金鶯的全壘打秀還沒結束，這發3分砲是金鶯第8棒Schoop，今年（2016年）第25發全壘打，他單場攻下5分點，終場金鶯以8:2擊敗洋基，加上藍鳥輸給紅襪，金鶯升上外卡第一，領先藍鳥1場勝差。（民視新聞陳建君、王泰棋綜合報導）
